The last weekend of June at Silver Moon Bakery
we celebrate Gay Pride Day, and begin 4th of July celebrations!!!
The history of the gay rights movement, the passage of the equal marriage amendment (at least in certain states) had added a special note to Gay Pride Day, celebrated on Sunday, June 30. The flag, created after the murder of Harvey Milk, symbolizes the coming of age of the fight for equal rights for all genders.
This year, we created a delicious, beautiful and very large Gay Pride Flag cookie for this special day.
AND For the 4th of July celebrations, which we will begin celebrating on Friday, June 28 – Wednesday, July 4th, we have made quintessential American treats:
- Rhubarb pie (with streussel topping)
- Peach pie (with lattice topping)
- Cherry pie (with lattice topping)
- 4th of July Red, White & Blue extra-large butter cookies
- Tri-color cupcakes
