Thanksgiving photos

The first American Thanksgiving meal was celebrated in 1621, to commemorate the harvest reaped by the Plymouth Colony after a harsh winter.  The colonists celebrated it as a traditional English harvest feast, to which they invited the local Wampanoag Indians, who had helped them survive in their new home. Many of the dishes we eat today are reminders of that time: turkey, corn bread, probably pumpkin tarts.
